The unexpected curry-night side.
A
Plated final shot
It replaces the poppadom in our house, and in most houses that have tried it. A bowl of Nicely Spiced Kurma alongside a sharp tomato chutney. Nothing to cook.
Ingredients · serves 4
- Nicely Spiced Kurma 1 tub
- Fresh tomato chutney or kachumber 1 bowl
- Red onion, finely sliced ½
- Coriander, chopped a handful
- Lime 1
Pairs with
Any curry with a good sauce, and a cold ginger beer or a salt lassi.
Method · 5 minutes
- Tip a full tub of Nicely Spiced Kurma into a wide, shallow bowl so people can reach in.
- Set the tomato chutney alongside for dipping and scooping.
- Scatter the red onion and coriander over the chutney and squeeze over the lime.
- Put both in the middle of the table with the curry, and watch the poppadoms go untouched.
