The Sunday cheese plate, rethought.
A
Plated final shot
The combination that started everything for us. Aged cheddar, a sharp ginger jam, and Nicely Spiced Kurma exactly where the crackers usually go.
Ingredients · serves 6
- Aged cheddar 200g
- Creamy blue cheese 150g
- Ginger or chilli jam 1 jar
- Ripe pear, sliced 1
- Nicely Spiced Kurma 1 tub
- Grapes, to fill a handful
Pairs with
A cold glass of sorrel, or a strong cup of tea.
Method · 5 minutes
- Take the cheeses out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving. Cold cheese hides its flavour.
- Set the two cheeses at opposite corners of a board with the jam in a small bowl between them.
- Pile a generous heap of Nicely Spiced Kurma where you'd normally put crackers. This is the whole move.
- Fill the gaps with pear, grapes, and anything else good in the fruit bowl. Serve with a small knife and let people build their own.
